Reader's
Quarterly
| Believe it or not, Reader's Quarterly is still in the process of reorganizingOK, so reorganizing is stretching things a bit. The fact is, not much has happened during the past few months, and so we remain in something of a holding pattern. We still plan to reinvent ourselves and rise like a Phoenix from the ashes of our initial demise. This whole "Phoenix" thing is just taking a little longer than we would have liked, that's all. So far we're looking more like a rubber chicken, but it'll get better. Really. The main point is that we learn all of the relevant lessons that we can from our first run. We had the passion, we had the ideas, but we did not have the business acumen nor did we have the manpower (sorry ladies - "peoplepower?") to make it work long-term. We are not interested in another false start, so we are going to take our time and get our ducks perfectly in a row before we re-launch. It takes patience, but we're sure you'll agree that it is the wisest course to take. Keep checking back, and we'll be sure to let the world know when we're ready to rise. If we can just begin to sprout a few feathers . . . "Hope is the thing with feathers." - Emily Dickinson "Emily Dickinson was wrong - Hope is NOT the thing with feathers. As it turns out, the thing with feathers is my nephew. We are taking him to a specialist in Zurich." - Woody Allen Chris Richbart, editor and founder |
